Ian Rundle

President

Ian is a junior computer science and math major from Portland, OR. He’s interested in going into software engineering and robotics as a career, and loves biking and (attempting) drone racing. Last year, he led the avionics r&d team, which created an autonomous unfolding drone to map the ground below as it ejects from our 2023 Spaceport rocket. Outside of Eclipse, he also does research at the BRC with Dr Seymour’s lab, optimizing neural electrodes to locate seizure origins in epilepsy patients.

Warren Rose

CHIEF ENGINEEr

Warren, hailing from the north-north-west of Washington State, is a mechanical engineering major and economics minor at Hanszen College. Warren has a passion for space systems engineering and the growth of the commercial space industry. Last year Warren Got his L2 rocketry certification as part of his team leadership role in developing a high altitude payload deployment vehicle. Currently interning at an in-space propulsion developer, Stellar Exploration, he hopes to eventually work towards reducing the barrier to entry for academic and industry exposure to space. When he isn't working, Warren fills the days out in nature whenever possible. Skiing, surfing, hiking, and plenty of gardening are some key parts of his perfect relaxation routine.

Mark Lopatofsky

Chief Engineer

Mark is a junior Mechanical Engineering & Computational and Applied Mathematics dual degree. Last year he led the Fluid Flow Team in developing methods for coupled CFD and FEA analysis to solve nozzle heat transfer simulations, and he currently does CFD research with Rice University’s CMOR department. He also works at the Oshman Engineering Design Kitchen helping student’s creative ideas come to life. Mark loves nerding out on design projects, including building rockets and his own go kart. Mark grew up in Overland Park, Kansas where he learned to BBQ from the best. His favorite meats to BBQ are brisket and prime rib.

Dan Zislis

Aerodynamics and Structures Lead

Dan is a senior Mechanical Engineering student from northern New Jersey (which he claims isn’t as bad of a state as people think). Last year, he led the newly developed Aerodynamics R&D team which supported Icarus and Daedalus with projects to test rocket staging and flight control interfaces. The R&D team also began planning the development of Eclipse’s first rocket designed to reach the Kármán line, and he’s eager to continue guiding the Spaceshot project alongside the development of the Archimedes rocket. When not Eclipsing, Dan’s semi-professional roles include being a music fanatic, an escape room enthusiast, and even an obstacle course racing junkie!

Adam Sher

Avionics and software Lead

Adam is a junior studying Electrical & Computer Engineering, and is originally from Madison, NJ. Last year, he led the RF Communications team through its development of Narwal, the first version of Eclipse’s custom telemetry system. Adam is interested in becoming an embedded systems engineer, and he’s really excited for the new Flight Computer team to start designing Eclipse’s first embedded microcontroller project this year! In his free time, Adam enjoys playing card games, learning about politics, and getting last place in Mario Kart.

Liam Manley

Propulsion lead

Liam is from Larchmont, NY and is a Junior studying Mechanical Engineering. Last year he lead the Titan team through the first ever Hot-fire of the Titan II engine, and helped analyze and modify the engine based on the data gathered. This year he is excited to continue the testing and development of this engine as it is integrated into the Archimedes rocket, as well as manufacture and launch the testing campaign of the new Proxima engine! Liam also loves to play volleyball, bike, and cook in his free time.

Amy Danjul

Cheif Safety officer

Amy is a junior from Dallas, TX majoring in computer science and mathematics. She was formerly Eclipse's Avionics Static Testing and Diagnostics Lead and a member of Flight Instruments. She is passionate about R&D in the aerospace and defense industry, and is interested in applying both the engineering and theoretical perspectives of computer science in the field. In her free time, Amy enjoys rating local coffee shops and playing piano.

Esther Fahel

PuBLIC AFfairs officer

Esther is a junior from London, UK studying mechanical engineering. Last year she led the Recovery Team which built and flew Eclipse’ first supersonic dual-stage rocket as a test rocket before our competition rocket, Icarus and Daedalus, which achieved full recovery system deployment. This year she is excited to host social events for the team, design merch, recruit new members, and document Eclipse engineering projects! Outside of Eclipse, she leads a mechanical design team building a model wind turbine as she explores her passion for sustainability. She also enjoys cooking, playing the piano, and learning aerial silks.

Zach Wilson

Chief financial officer

Zach is a sophomore Finance major from Porter, TX. He is an aspiring investment banker and is practically married to Excel. When he’s not solving global economic crises, Zach spends a lot of time playing board games, lifting, and getting beat at basketball.

Ultimately, leadership is not about glorious crowning acts. It’s about keeping your team focused on a goal and motivated to do their best to achieve it, especially when the stakes are high and the consequences really matter. It is about laying the groundwork for others’ success, and then standing back and letting them shine.
— Chris Hadfield
